Hayden Christensen turned one of Los Angeles’ biggest cultural celebrations of the year into a memorable family night.
The Star Wars actor attended the opening celebration for the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art on September 19 with his 11 year old daughter Briar Rose, making a relatively rare public appearance together.
Christensen shares Briar with actress Rachel Bilson. The former couple has generally kept their daughter away from the constant attention that can surround Hollywood families, making Saturday night’s appearance especially notable for longtime fans.
The setting also carried an obvious connection to Christensen’s career.
The Lucas Museum was founded by Star Wars creator George Lucas and Mellody Hobson, and the opening brought together generations of filmmakers, performers and artists whose careers have been connected to visual storytelling. Fellow Star Wars figures including Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill were among the celebrities attending the celebration.
Christensen became one of the most recognizable faces in the Star Wars universe after portraying Anakin Skywalker in the prequel films. Decades later, his relationship with the franchise continues to attract an enthusiastic fan following.
During the museum event, Christensen and Briar even spoke about the continuing legacy of Star Wars during a rare joint interview, adding a personal generational element to the evening.
The father and daughter have occasionally appeared together in public before. In August 2025, they attended a Chicago Cubs game at Wrigley Field and participated in the seventh inning stretch, but appearances involving Briar have remained limited.
Saturday’s event placed them at the center of one of the largest gatherings of Hollywood talent in Los Angeles this weekend.
The Lucas Museum’s opening night included major names from film, television, music and art, including Steven Spielberg, Oprah Winfrey, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro and Kim Kardashian. The museum officially opens to visitors September 22 in Exposition Park.
For Christensen, the glamorous evening ultimately produced something much simpler than another Hollywood premiere.
It offered fans a rare glimpse of the actor simply enjoying an important Los Angeles night alongside his daughter.
