Hollywood welcomed its favorite web slinger back to the big screen on Monday night as the cast of Spider Man: Brand New Day gathered at the Dolby Theatre for the film’s Los Angeles premiere.
Zendaya delivered the evening’s most dramatic fashion moment in a black couture gown by Ashi Studio. Selected from the designer’s fall 2026 couture collection, the sculptural dress featured a plunging neckline, a voluminous skirt and a flowing train that swept across the red carpet.
The gown was styled by Zendaya’s longtime collaborator Law Roach, who has become known for creating fashion moments that connect directly to the stories behind her films. Delicate tendrils rose from the structured bodice, while gathered fabric gave the skirt a textured and almost otherworldly appearance.
The dark color and spider inspired details offered a mysterious interpretation of the Spider Man universe. The look also appeared to reference the shadowy visual language of Venom, though no connection between Zendaya’s costume and the film’s storyline has been confirmed.
Zendaya completed the ensemble with black lace pumps decorated with tiny spiders. Her diamond, onyx and black lacquer earrings came from Boucheron’s Histoire de Style Art Deco high jewelry collection.
Her beauty look continued the evening’s moody theme. Her hair had a glossy wet finish, with soft strands framing her face. Smoky eye makeup and a glossy lip added to the gown’s dark glamour.
The premiere also brought several major stars to Hollywood Boulevard. Tom Holland, who returns as Peter Parker, joined cast members and celebrity guests including Sadie Sink, Jaden Smith and Michael B Jordan.
Spider Man: Brand New Day follows Peter Parker as he adjusts to a world where the people closest to him no longer remember who he is. While facing a dangerous new enemy, Peter must decide how much he is willing to sacrifice to protect the people he loves.
The story continues after the emotional conclusion of the previous Spider Man film, which left Peter isolated and forced to rebuild his life without the support of his closest friends.
Zendaya’s appearance immediately inspired speculation among fans, with some wondering whether the spider details and darker styling offered clues about the future of her character, MJ. The actress and the film’s creative team have not confirmed any hidden meaning behind the look.
For Los Angeles, the premiere was another reminder that summer blockbuster season is in full swing. With a packed red carpet, elaborate couture and one of Hollywood’s most popular screen couples, the event transformed the Dolby Theatre into the center of the Marvel universe for the night.
Spider Man: Brand New Day arrives in theaters on Friday, July 31.
